The science of the slide is simple. All it takes is enough
game to put Sony out of business and your inner Jay Z will be cruising
with his B in no time. Grab a notepad, some juice and let’s school you
on this simple yet highly abused process of sending dms.
1. The Research: Like every science experiment, a little research goes a long way in getting correct results. That’s why we beg you to take time out to study your future bae on social media before doing anything else. Find out what she likes to do for fun, where she usually hangs out or the causes she’s passionate about. This will go a long way in getting your conversations going, you churning out info on stuff she just happens to like.
Don’t overdo it though. Then, you’re playing with fire because she might suspect you know too much about her and it could land you in a lot of trouble. Speaking of which, before they say we’re training you to become a cyber-stalker, let’s move on to the second point…
2. The Request: So now that you’re fully knowledgeable about your subject, it’s time to make the first move. Send that request. Be sure that your profile pic is looking on point before you do, and your grid is in order. Plus, photos of exes have to go, you don’t want to give her the wrong impression.
Some people may suggest you make your account private and let your bio do the talking. It adds to the mystery, they say. Whatever feels right to you, go with it and patiently wait for the followback.
Note: Whatever you do, do not leave a “kfb” message in her comments. #DesperateMuch
3. The Introduction: She followed back! Like she had a choice lol. Now, for the plunge. First, do not DM her immediately. A gap of about two to three days should do. And secondly, be original. “Hello” is just you being lazy, and “Hello Beautiful” will get her defense system up faster than you can say Jack Daniels. Instead, say something nice about her last photo’s caption, the scenery or maybe the outfit she wore in it. That’s sure to get her attention and warm her up to you. Then she replies…
4. The Conversation: By this time you’ve successfully slid into her DM like a pro. Clap for yourself. This step is the tricky part though because it’s one thing to attract and another to retain, especially when it comes to getting ladies. Avoid asking 21 questions in an attempt to keep your conversation going. And don’t tell her your life story, please. Or ask for her number! Just be patient.
5. The Hookup: Weeks have passed and she’s a lot comfortable with you, so now is the time to strike. From asking for her number to skipping steps and asking her out, the rest as they say is Instagram history. You’ve done well and deserve to enjoy your victory’s spoils. #RelationshipGoals
